Ⅰ²R ….The Power to cause changes
Text: Acts 1:8
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
~The believer without power is nothing but a religious bigot. Easily tossed to & fro by the enemy and prevailing circumstances.
~The essence of the power spoken about is for us to become witnesses and hence cause changes. From the
Strong’s Definition: power is defined as force (literally or figuratively); specifically miraculous power (usually by implication a miracle itself): – ability, abundance, meaning, might (-ily, -y, -y deed), (worker of) miracle (-s), power, strength, violence, mighty (wonderful) work.
~The power Jesus spoke about was all-round & all-inclusive.
~Power intimidates an oppressor,it gives control, mind you not manipulating of fellow believers but to put the enemy where he belongs. The believer with power has control over satan & his demons. Its the other way around for many believers because they’ve allowed it.
~Power will put you on top every circumstance not with an exception of any. This power is intimidating to the oppressor. Differentiates between sons and children. Children are easily tossed by every wind of doctrine but not sons. Rom 8:14, Jn 1:12, 1peter 1:2
I find the electrical power most suitable for this teaching,
~Electrically speaking,
P= Ⅰ²R
where Ⅰ =current ,R=resistance
In the context of my teaching, Ⅰ is the Holy Spirit @ work in you.
there is no power (P)until there is (R) resistance. However any believer that keeps his/her eyes on the (R) resistance is finished! Sadly though this is what happens many a time. You need to keep your eyes on the power that ought to be generated and not on the resistance.
The resistance of the enemy ought to fuel you to power.
~A typical illustration is what we find in the damming of a River in order to generate electrical power. Usually a blockage(resistance) is put in place against the flow of water. The water upon seeing the blockage doesn’t retreat but rather the water deliberately rises above the blockage(resistance) and when it eventually rises above it,there will be a free fall of water over the obstacle, then power is generated as the falling water gathers enough energy to drive the turbines. You see the blockage (resistance) is actually your advantage.
~It takes 2 components to generate power Ⅰ & R and you can’t wish your resistance(R) away. God gives you your Ⅰ (the Holy Spirit & the Word) nature,circumstances & the enemy gives the R.
A biblical parable explains this; The Parable of the Wheat & Tares. The farmer plants wheat (an economic plant) Ⅰ, while he sleeps the enemy plants Tares (R) and then Jesus recommends that they should be allowed to grow together. That is because Jesus knows that when Ⅰis multiplied by R, the resultant is power matt 13:30
~From my formula you see Ⅰis in multiple also, therefore Ⅰ² is to ensure that the amount of Ⅰis more than R.
God provides you with Ⅰ but you have the responsibility to ensure it grows in multiple.
How do I double my Ⅰ? The Word of God must be multiplied in you after you hear it once. You must keep taking in the Word,meditating on the Word, speaking the Word; that’s how to have your Ⅰ doubled. If your Ⅰis not in multiple the resistance R will weed the word out of your heart. The word in you must increase.
~You must stop fussing about R that’s the way the enemy gets his job done, so go on and do yours by concentrating on increasing the deposit of the Word in you, rather than telling the devil to stop working.
~No one can generate power by focusing on R,fear is what consumes you when you do that.
~Pertinently speaking, what do you want to live for? Do you want to write your name on the sands of time? Do you want to cause changes? Will your generation be proud you walked the earth? Will cancers and turmoil walk out because you showed up? Will hell have you as a perpetual threat? Every believer is designed to cause change not meant to just passive. The blood that redeemed us is worth more than that!
We’ve been endued with power. Build your Ⅰ to the extent that your water rises above your resistance.
~When the resistance comes in the form of thoughts and pictures, keep rising above R by holding onto the Word even when it seems like change is not in sight,keep doubling the Word( meditating)
~R was never meant to stop any one. Only children get stopped by R certainly not sons. Sons realize that R’s are meant to launch you to the next level, sons celebrate R they don’t weep over them.
~Focus on the Spirit within and take in the Word,have communion with the Word. Do this till there is a free flow of your water and before you know it your R becomes your advantage and power is generated and trust me change is inevitable!
